LEAP Africa is set to roll out eIntegrity, an online learning course in its fight against corruption and aid for teaching values-based leadership in Nigeria.
Leadership, Effectiveness, Accountability and Professionalism (LEAP) Africa, established in 2002, is a non-profit organisation, committed to developing dynamic innovative and principled African leaders.
LEAP’s eIntegrity, which will be launched on March 9, 2016 in Lagos, was developed in collaboration with the Ford Foundation.
According to a statement by LEAP, it would debut the leadership development organisation’s upgraded curriculum on values, ethics, integrity and how to address corruption to a broad audience of partners.
Integrity is an interactive web-based learning experience targeted at youth and professionals.
It is accessible via mobile devices or laptop computers and engages users in games and virtual activities that build knowledge and decision making skills around ethics.
It highlights corruption and the costs it imposes on individuals and the society, providing practical tips on how to address it. “Integrity is user friendly interface that allows personalised learning and engagement beyond the course.
“With the heightened anti-corruption focus of the current administration, eIntegrity presents a useful resource for values re-orientation, character education aimed at promoting accountability, transparency and ultimately a better society. Nigeria’s ever-increasing mobile internet penetration provides a great enabler of this innovative and indigenous creation to promote wide-spread ethics education”, they said.
eIntegrity will be launched in Lagos on Wednesday March 9, 2016 amidst key stakeholders from the public, private and social sectors as well as the media.
As part of the launch, there will be a panel discussion around the theme “Nigeria’s battle with corruption: Are we winning or losing?” Expected at the event are principal offices from the Federal Ministries of Youth, Education and Communication, the Federal Civil Service, the EFCC, NOA, NYSC and human resource leads of leading corporate institutions across Nigeria.
LEAP said it is seeking partnerships with private, public and the civil sectors organisations nationwide to deploy the course to youth within and outside the school system and professionals. eIntegrity is an offshoot of the Integrity Institute, an instructor led workshop developed by LEAP in 2005 with the support of the UK Government. Integrity Institute has been deployed to youth in over five states of the federation and several corporate organisations, including banks.
LEAP said, “We recognise that raising leaders is critical to nation building and wealth creation. Over the years, LEAP has inspired and equipped youth, business owners and social entrepreneurs to lead ethically while implementing initiatives that transform their communities and organizations for better; sustaining livelihood and contributing to national development. LEAP achieves this through its training programmes, publications and most recently eLearning.”
eLEAP focuses is on leveraging technology for social change by inspiring our target audience of youth and entrepreneurs to be better leaders through online courses, gamified contents, video and audio clips. eIntegrity is a pilot of our elearning courses designed to raise awareness on ethics and empower its audience to resist corruption.
